To celebrate the Artemis 2 launch we all made rockets to launch. We looked at what is needed for a rocket to launch and how we could make rockets travel the longest distance. We all had a fabulous time!
As part of continued involvement with the Ogden Trust and promoting Physics at Ireland Wood, children from year 1 and year 2 travelled to Iveson Primary School. Together they made and launched rockets. We all had a fabulous time learning and making friends.
Year 1 were very excited to learn all about Artemis 2 and made their own rockets - they launched them using a straw!
KS1 children attended after school science club and enjoyed finding out why rain falls from clouds and how to build a stable structure out of spaghetti and marshmallows! They also discovered why boats that are made of metal float. We all used our scientific enquiries to question and observe each week.
Year 3 have started to learn all about Forces. They are using our fantastic new resources from the Ogden Trust.
Year 1 have been discovering what animals actually eat by looking at the poo they left behind in our classroom!
Today the children needed to mop up spilt water. What material was the most absorbent?
